How do you feel about rest days and doing absolutely nothing once in a while?

A natural way to answer

I've come to see rest as part of the training, not the opposite of it. If I push too hard without recovery, I just end up tired and prone to injury. A proper day off makes the next session far better.

Key phrases to use

  • put your feet up — to relax, especially after working hard“After a long week I just want to put my feet up.”
  • cut someone some slack — to be less strict or critical with someone (or yourself)“Cut yourself some slack, you've done enough.”
  • recharge your batteries — to rest in order to get your energy back“I took the weekend off to recharge my batteries.”
