How do you feel about making small talk with strangers at social events?

A natural way to answer
I'm reasonably comfortable with it now. I find that asking open questions and letting the other person do the talking works well. The hardest part is breaking the ice, but once you start, the conversation usually flows naturally.
Key phrases to use
- break the ice — to say or do something to make people feel more relaxed at the start of a conversation“He told a joke to break the ice.”
- do the talking — to be the one who speaks most in a conversation“I just let her do the talking.”
