Do you think it's better to help people quietly, or is it okay to let others see your kindness?

B2Helping & kindnessOpinion

A natural way to answer

I lean towards helping quietly. Kindness feels more genuine when you're not looking for credit. That said, sharing it openly can encourage others to do the same, so I don't think it's wrong.

Key phrases to use

  • show off — to try to impress people by displaying what you do or have“He's always showing off about his new car.”
  • hold something against someone — to feel resentment toward someone because of something they did“He made a mistake, but I don't hold it against him.”
  • slip away — to leave quietly without being noticed“She slipped away before the speeches started.”
