Some people buy lots of cheap, trendy clothes; others invest in a few lasting pieces. Which approach appeals to you, and why?

A natural way to answer

I tend to favour investing in a few quality pieces. Although they cost more upfront, they last longer and usually look better, which I find more satisfying and ultimately more economical than constantly replacing cheaper items.

Key phrases to use

  • fall apart — to break into pieces or stop working because of poor quality or wear“Cheap shoes always fall apart quickly.”
  • treasure every piece — to value and care for each item greatly“I treasure every piece my grandmother passed down.”
