What do you think is the biggest difference between how your generation and your parents' generation handle relationships?

C1People & relationshipsCompare

B Natural answer

I think the main difference is that my generation tends to much earlier. People are more likely to ask, 'What are we doing here?' and talk about exclusivity, timing, or future plans before they get too emotionally invested. Our parents often seemed to rely more on assumptions, family expectations, or a slow, unspoken progression.

Another difference is that we are quicker to . If there is a problem, we text about it, bring it up in a call, or have a direct conversation sooner. That can be healthy, although sometimes it also makes relationships feel a bit more fragile because everything is discussed immediately. At the same time, my parents' generation often put up with more silence and waited longer before addressing issues.

I also think younger people are more willing to when it comes to commitment. Not everyone wants to rush into marriage or define a relationship very early. So overall, I would say we are more explicit, more communicative, and less willing to follow a fixed script.
