Do you like to stock up and buy in bulk, or just buy things as you need them?

B2Money & shoppingCompare

A natural way to answer

I tend to buy things as I need them, to be honest. Buying in bulk can be a false economy for me, because I end up wasting food that goes off before I use it. I'd rather buy little and often.

Key phrases to use

  • stock up — to buy a large amount of something to keep for later“We stocked up before the holidays.”
  • works out cheaper — to end up costing less overall“Buying the big pack works out cheaper.”
  • false economy — a saving that actually costs you more in the end“Cheap shoes are a false economy if they wear out fast.”
  • stocked-up — having a full supply of something stored away“The cupboard's nicely stocked-up.”
