In use

Common mistake

✗ I see your point, and I don't agree.

✓ I see your point, but I don't agree.

Use 'but' to signal the disagreement that follows; 'and' loses the contrast.

Don't confuse it

Stronger acknowledgement than 'I'm not so sure about that', which skips the concession.
